Dear Ruth,

I was trying to compose my farewell to Mayflower Piggyfriend when your sad post arrived on my screen.

I am so very sorry that Babu Franklin has gone to join Nani Alice at the Rainbow Bridge. I know how hard you tried to find him a perfect new home, so you must not second guess yourself as to whether you did the right thing. He would not have been happy left by himself all day. Piggies need company, either of their own kind or ours.

His adoptive family must be very upset at what has happened. I seldom have any further contact with people that bring piggies here to Piggyfriends but on the rare occasions when their previous owners have wished to visit, I have always felt terribly guilty when that particular piggy has passed on. I am sure that they will be comforted by the fact that you wish to pigsit for them in the future.

It is so sad that your allergies have prevented you from having more piggies in your life but you have precious memories on which to look back.

Despite your sadness at this time, I hope that you will enjoy your trip to Scotland. My parents spent several holidays there and the scenery is beautiful.
