Okay, so now we get frequent friendly reminders that the annual "Light for Peter Gurney" will take place on Sunday (for most of us), March 9th, at 8:00 pm, in your particluar time zone. We want everyone to participate, and all you need to do is light a candle at or around 8:00 pm. This is the Digester's tribute to Peter Gurney, who passed away in July 2006, in England. He was a tireless guinea pig advocate, who wrote many of the books on guinea pigs that we all rely on. Our first candle lighting took place when we learned of his death, and in our GPDD "free-form" way, we have held a candle-lighting each year, on March 9th - the day of his birthday, to remember him.

As candles are lit in our respective time zones, the light will literally move around the world. It is also a good and fitting way to remember our own dear guinea pigs who are with Mr. Gurney at the Rainbow Bridge.

After we do this, if you send me a post (either to the GPDD or to my email), I will compile a list of all the places where a candle was lit and post it here. Last year candles were lit in over 54 places - very impressive.

So mark your calendars and light a candle on March 9th, at 8:00 pm.
I'll send emails out all this week, so bare with me, as I am trying to reach everyone.

Audrey, and her GP, Gordon (Remembering Reese)
