Hi all!

My observation/experience is that eye washing is a sign of affection
and trust. I have seen bonded piggies do it, and actually had a piggie
that did it to me (my departed little tripod Sweetie Pig used to sit
with me, and would lick my eyes from time to time). I have two girls
now that will wash each other's eyes.

Sight is one of the most important senses for a prey animal; to allow
another to come near their eyes is an expression of trust.

Eye washing is also very common in rabbits; when we had Ariel,
Bunzilla used to wash her eyes all the time.
