Hi All,
I heard from Lynn yesterday an she asked that I let you all know that
she's still alive and is on the mend. She is out of the hospital -- out of
both hospitals. The first one was a complete disaster, to quote her. The surgery
went well, but from that point on (at the first hospital) everything went to
hell.
But she is now at home, though quite weak yet. The 2nd hospital
diagnosed and treated her for what should have been discovered at the first hospital,
especially as she told the staff at the first hospital how bad she felt and
the problems she was having breathing.
How's that for a chaotic sentence? Well, that pretty much communicates
all that followed her surgery in the first hospital. Chaos.
She collapsed at home after she was released, broke all the bones
across the top of her foot when she fell (she caught her foot on her guide dog's
bed), and ended up (thank God) in another hospital where they diagnosed all
kinds of things that had not been detected at first hospital.
So, as I said, she's finally home after two and a half weeks of trauma
-- weary, tiring quickly, but slowly recuperating nonetheless. And, as should
be expected <wink>, she misses all her GPDD friends, and promises to return on
line when she is able. It may be a while, however.
Essentially she's been through two hospitalizations, surgery, heart
attacks, congestive heart failure, broken foot bones, and is now is at home in a
wheel chair (because of the broken bones), where she is amazingly maintaining
her sense of humor and sense of the absurd.
Hang in there, lady. You're a real survivor. We all hope you get
stronger and better day by day and know that you will!
Alge
