Hi,I just want to thank everyone for their condolences on the passing of Augustus.  It makes me feel much better knowing that others feel the same way I do about their pigs!  The past few days have been very hard.  There is something missing in our home.  I know it will take a long time to get easier, as he was irreplaceable. The day that Gussie passed I got a huge order from Dr Fosters Smith.  I felt like I needed to do something positive in his memory. We took several bags of carefresh, orange drops, hay and all the things he loved to the humane society.  I did want to see the pigs they had.  I was thrilled that they only had three babies.  When I had gone in there a few months ago there was about 13 guinea pigs. They are a no kill shelter and someone at the shelter told me that guinea pigs usually take a long time to be adopted out.  I was so glad to know all those guinea pigs had found a home.  I had gotten Gussie from a pet store and always felt a bit guilty.  I never knew that so many small animals end up in shelters needing a home.  So when the time is right I know there will be another special pig out there. I also just wanted to add that the rainbow bridge is a very comforting thought..Thanks,Jodi
