Hi Ginger.  Poor little Flaco!  Lady Bug sends healing kisses to him and wants you to know that she takes Metacam every day for her arthritis and does just fine.  I've never heard of Metacam affecting appetite.  What makes you think your tap water will hurt your little one?  What bacteria do you think is in the water?  It really is fine or your local water agency would have been sued by now : )
   
  You were in the right spot for info when you went to Guinealynx, you just didn't go far enough.  There is a section on pain management as well as a guide to vets for people looking for one.
   
  Scritches to Flaco and it sounds as though you're doing fine with him.  You are right to not have the bandage too tight or it will swell.  Good luck.
