I just found out that my neighbor's pig Hershey passed away this week. The
neighbors (mom, dad, two teens) were ok with Hershey - he always had a warm
place to sleep and decent food but as a single pig he lacked companionship.
I've offered to take him in as my own pig but the neighbors never took me up
on the offer. When I did visit him, I always had kind words and gave him a
head rub.

Knowing that I rescue, they gave me his leftover bedding, food & hay.
Timothy hay, which I'm glad he got in his diet. I threw out the pellets with the
"junk".

I regret that this little pig did not have a friend of his own during his
life but I hope that you ask your pigs at the Bridge to welcome Hershey as
finally he has friends of his own.

"It doesn't matter what the kids say. Rabbits are not disposable like a box
of cereal or a Disney video. They WILL get tired of the rabbits and go on to
the next toy. YOU will have to deal with the consequences. Unfortunately,
most people deal with the situation by DUMPING their rabbits on someone else.
Ultimately, it is the bunny that pays for your inability to say NO."
