I have a 4.5 year old sow that is going to be x-rayed on November 25 to
see if she has a stone in her urethra. She had cystitis in May and was
treated with Paediatric Septrin 0.5ml twice a day for 14 days along with
Rimadyl 10mg twice a day for 14 days. The cystitis cleared up but she
has been on 0.3ml liquid Vit C and 0.2ml Hydrangea root tincture daily
per Vedra Stanley Spatcher's instructions to prevent another case of
cystitis. Overnight she developed what appears to be a large hard lump
in her urethra. She is acting normally and she does not have blood in
her urine. It is as if this stone was in her bladder and just pushed on
down into her urethra. Has anyone seen this situation before? In
Vedra's book she shows a stone in a sows urethra but this stone is not
that large. I read the archives and could not find any reference to a
stone in the urethra that is about a half a centimeter wide by a half a
centimeter high. She has always drank filtered water and lots of it.
Have any of your piggies undergone surgery to remove a stone in the
urethra? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely, Ann and the rescued piggys of piggyville Tampa Florida USA
