Hi Ann,
 
Several years ago I had a one of my sows (Sassy Suzy) develop a stone in her urethra.  She did not seem uncomfortable with it and it didn't affect her in any way that I noticed except she would complain if you touched it.
 
I took her to the vet who sedated her and then was able to remove the stone with tweezers or forceps.  The stone (I still have it) was about the size of a pea.  A year or two later the same thing happened again only this time there were several but smaller stones.  She was put on an antibiotic for a while and everything was fine after that.
