Dave and Yvonne, it was with much sadness that we read of the passings of Little Pig and Snuggles. We are so very sorry that you lost them within a three-week period. Losing one piggie is hard enough, so we can only imagine what a difficult time you are going through.
Please accept our condolences on Little Pig's passing. Because our Tumbleweed has had teeth problems, we definitely understand how hard it is to deal with them. It is sad that your vet told you not to worry that he had stopped eating after his molars were worked on. Please know that you did your best to get food and Metacam into him; we are sure he knew you were trying to get him well. Although we are so sorry that he left, we are glad that he was in your arms as he made his final journey. How touching to read of how you comforted him by doing one of his favorite things, stroking his ear. Thank you for sharing some of your memories of him, such as what a good husband-pig and friend he was to Katty. Little Pig was lucky to be part of your family.
We also send our condolences on Snuggles' passing. We know it was such a shock that he passed away shortly after his neutering operation and that he was only three months old. Please don't blame yourself. We've always taken in food for our piggies to eat after surgery. It's hard to know exactly what happened, but it seems that the people at the vet's should have known when the proper time was to allow him food. What happened was not your fault, and we know that Snuggles knows this. We hope you will find comfort in remembering his happy times with you and in realizing that yours was the perfect home for him. He was settling in well and understood how much he was loved. Snuggles took memories of your love to the Bridge with him, we are sure.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all sick piggies and their families.
Sadly,
Cindy, Tumbleweed, and Friday
