My Darling Duke.  My momma told me yesterday morning that you had listened to the siren sounds from the Bridge and decided to follow them.  I hid my head in my towel to give myself a chance to recover my composure.

I want you to know that I understand completely why you left.  At the camping trip to the Piggyfriends I could hear the tiredness in your voice and sense it in the way you moved.  We talked about how tired you were and tired of all the pain also.  I selfishly asked you to stay, you said you would, and kept your promise.  Sadly, there were no other opportunities to actually be with you again.

You talked so much about your Granny and how much you loved her and how she was always there during the bad times.  You didn't think she would understand if you left but I told you I was sure she would.  She loved you far too much to see you suffer again and again.  My momma tells me you left us all like the gentleman you were.  Quietly and softly.

That is how I will always remember you-a perfect gentleman.  I will miss your gentleness when with me, our cuddles.  I never had to worry you were laughing at me because of my blindness or playing tricks on me that I didn't know about.  The younger kids will also miss your influence in our get togethers.  I'm not ready to leave yet but when I am, I hope you will remember me and greet me.  It will be good to see you and Duke and the Piggyfriends who are with you now as well as all the others when it is time.

Good by my Dearest until later.

Your Lady Bug
