Hi
My vet does the reverse -- x-rays (at $50 per x-ray) and then blood work
IF their are UTI symptoms. Blood work will tell a lot tho about organ
functioning, etc. I truly don't know which would be the best starting point -- does
he strain when he urinates, etc.? Then I'd be for x-rays. If it's much more
general, then blood work.

I have a kitchen scale tht I bought specifically for the piggies -- it
has a bowl that sits on the scale and I keep a receiving blanket in there then
set weight back to zero so that I get an accurate weight. Mine weighs up to 7
pounds and I'm quite happy with it. They also have some nice digital ones
though they cost more. I suspect they work equally well.

All best,
Alge and the Jolly Rodent Pirate Crew -- or is that Jolly Rodent Piggy Pirate
Crew... :) ? Captain Jack and Barnacle Bill will carry on the Jolly
Rodent tradition in that Capt'n Jack and Charlie, Jolly Rodent, did spend some
time together and Jack says he learned a lot from Charlie, who had begun his
training. They're just adding a new twist to the generally honorable tradition.
