I'm sorry if you receive this twice. I'm having problems with my e-mail.
The medication and low bloodsugar can make guinea pigs feel nautious
and not want to eat. It becomes a perpetual cycle. There are two
things I've done. One is to give them yoghurt with live culture about
a half hour after their antibiotics. This replaces the flora killed
off by the medication and gets some protein into their tummies. They
usually like it. Use plain, unsweetened.
I also have hydrated them with watered down applejuice. This gives
them some sugars and electrolytes that they loose. They usually like it.
If they can nibble, and don't like syringe feeding you can make the
Critical Care or even softened regullar pellets into a paste with
water or juice and roll it up into soft balls they can eat on their own.
Also I have found they have a hard time resisting grass and cucumber.
