I am a bit behind with reading all the posts on this thread as it was our
local shelter's Christmas Fair yesterday and the weekend was taken up with
helping out. We were so lucky that the almost perpetual rain stopped for the
afternoon and hordes of people came along to support the cause.
Do we know why Blossom is on Flagyl? This is a powerful antibiotic and is
only used by our Rodentolgists with great care and consideration. They never
give it to owners to take home in the way that they dispense their
antibiotic of choice, which is children's Septrin, but keep piggies needing
Flagyl in their hospital.
They use it for illnesses such as a lymph node or tooth root abscess.
Does Blossom have an abscess? If her throat is sore or inflamed have you
tried Daktarin Oral Gel which is very soothing for people as well as
piggies?
An easy to eat food for the syringe is mashed banana as it slides down well.
Even Piggyfriends that don't normally like banana when they are well will
take it in this form.
I'll catch up on the other posts after work but it is so hard to guess what
is wrong with a piggy via an email. There is no substitute for having the
piggy right in front of you.
Love and hugs for Blossom and Baby Truffles.
Penny and the Piggyfriends.
