Hi all,

Here I am again with some other health issue with Guiny. Are these just age
ailments? She's going toward 5 years now...
We went to the vet today (yes, it's open on sunday) because I discovered a
lump between Guiny's front paws.
The vet also checked for ovarian cysts, but she said it felt okay, maybe
just her appendix...
We also noticed her back paw, or actually one of her toes stood at a strange
angle.
The vet said probably not to worry, she does not seem hurt, and it might
have broken and grew back like this...
She could take an x-ray if we wanted, but i decided as long as it does not
bother her to leave it alone.

Now for the lumps, This week I noticed when Guiny was in my hands, that she
seemed to have a lump between her front paws,
the lump being located on her chest.
It did not feel like an abcess and wasn't very hard, it has a kind of fatty
feeling.
So we took Guiny to the vet to hav eit checked out, apparently she had more
than one lump...
And the vet took some fine needle aspiration biopsies from the lumps.
She warned us not to be alarmed by the awfully painful screams she might let
out by when the needle went in there.
We knew, Guinea pigs can make this awful noise when in pain, but Guiny did
very good, the little trooper.
She did not squeal or really make any noises.
I could see she did not like it though... and she moved a little, but not as
much i'd imagine my other piggies doing, being in the same situation.

The vet thought it looked like fatty lumps (lipoma?) to her, but wanted to
send it to the lab to have it checked out.
I'll get the results before the end of the wheek.
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed its just fatty lumps...

After the vet was done Guiny ran to her Daddy slave and when he stroked her
nose, she started smiling.
It looked real cute.

I have to say this vet seemed more promising than the last one we saw...
The last one had never seen a cinnamon agouti pig, and was shocked at
Guiny's bald spots behind her ears...
But then Guiny had to poop, and ate her poop, and the vet was amazed at
that.
She did know rabbits seem to do that, so she believed us when guineas do it
too.. but still she was kind of appaled...

When we got home, we put Guiny in the kitchen for floortime, since their
cages needed cleaning.
Boyfriend went to check on the others and Dunya looked quite miserable when
he did not bring Guiny.
so we took her downstairs and put her in with Guiny, and she immediately ran
to Guiny.
As if to say: Are you okay?
We always thought they never really bonded, but i guess they proofed us
wrong...

Well, let you all know what it is when I hear...
