[Gpdd] [BEHAVIOR] New Addition: "Leaking" instead of "Wheeking"?

Hello all!

Back in early December we welcomed a new member to our little family of
Guinea Goddesses: Pomona (aka Mona). She's the sweetest little critter, and
a real snuggle-bunny. Where Isis is neurotic and Mimi is spastic, Mona is
just a happy-go-lucky little thing. When she popcorns, the rolls amost
entirely over onto her back and kicks her feet in the air...it's hilarious.

Here are some blog posts my boyfriend made about her (and our other two
girls):

And some pictures of Mona being adorable:

The real reason I wanted to tell you all about Mona is that she doesn't
"wheek" like Mimi and Isis do. Isis was a pretty quiet youngster, but she
did start singing for her supper after just a couple of months. Mimi's
always been a little chatterbox. Mona, however, makes this "psssssht!
psssssht!" sound instead -- we call her our leaky radiator pig.

She does make little "boop!"s when she's running around, and they almost
always punctuate a landing (coming off the top of her house, between bounces
while she's running laps around her cage or on the couch during play time,
etc.). She has no problem purring at me or Peter, or rumblestrutting at her
favorite playmate, Mimi (who's nearly 3 times Mona's size...she's an
eater!).

It's almost as if Mona is hoarse or something...or maybe she's just wheeking
at a frequency we can't hear. Has anyone else encountered a pig like this?
And if so, will her verbal communications become more mainstream as she
grows up?

...Not that they have to. :) We think our leaky pig is just fine the way
she is, but we're both curious about whether or not this is common.

Thanks in advance for any input!
