We at the Story Piggies' house wish to welcome two new additions to the
herd. My husband and I attended a cavy show in Peoria, IL this past weekend - I
know very dangerous! LOL I have been missing my Teddy Bear piggy Calico so
very much that I just fell in love with a young Teddy, Golden Agouti boar that
was very sweet and loveable. He was so "laid back" that he let me pick him
up and carry him around the show for awhile - what a darling boy. He is about
four months old, and we named him Teddy Bear. The second addition was a
little more of a surprise. I never expected to adopt a long haired cavy, since
I was not sure how difficult it would be to take care of one, but this little
guy won me over as well. He is a baby TSW Texel boar that I have named
Curly Q Cavy. He is about two months old and is already full of curls. I
definitely did not figure on bringing home two cavies, but you all know how it is!
LOL Curly will be my first long haired cavy. I hope he will prove to be
easier to care for than I feared. I thought it would be nice to experience at
least one long haired cavy. I guess now was the time. He is not quite as
tame as Teddy, but I am sure he will warm up to us as soon as he has some time
to adjust to his new home. Teddy is still a little scared as well, and he
hides in his little hut most of the time. He is fine when you pick him up,
however, and he loves to snuggle. When both have had some time to adjust, we
will have to try out some introductions with other members of the herd. I
really must get some pictures up on a site so I can share them with all of you. I
will try to do that soon. I used to have two sites on AOL, but they
recently canceled all the "Hometown" sites. I will have to find a new place to post
 pigtures.

Sincere condolences to all of you who have recently lost a sweet fur baby.
It seems like there is no end to the losses lately. I certainly hope it ends
soon. Healing wheeks from all of us.

Wheeeeeeks to all,
Debra and The Story Cavies
