I talked my hubby out of the Pine Sol, which contains the dreaded phenols, and tried an antibacterial called Oust, which is safe to use around birds with proper ventilation. You know how sensitive birds are, so I feel a lot better. And yes, it's working! We just don't spray too close to the girls' cages. Whew!
Thanks, everyone, for your advice. Now if I could only keep the ratties out of the walls in the first place!
