I am so very, very sorry to read about the loss of your precious Golden. Please do not blame yourself in any way. You did your very best for him and were at the mercy of the vet.

It sounds as though Golden might have suffered congestive heart failure and the nearest thing to the correct treatment was probably when you gave him one of Suzy's Lasix tablets.

If I could have a wish come true it would be for all vets to be experts in the treament of our beloved guinea pigs. The Piggyfriends used to have a wonderful vet, who told me that his tuition on guinea pigs amounted to one optional lecture but he made it his life's work to learn all that he could about all the little furries and people would travel miles to consult him. He always sent a sympathy card to anyone who lost a pet.

You had a most horrendous experience at the vet and I hope that you will be able, in time, to remember all the good times with Golden.

R.I.P. Golden. Enjoy the fresh grass at the Rainbow Bridge with all the GPDD piggies gone before.
