[Gpdd] ANNOUNCEMENT Abby turns 5 and I have new guinea

Hey everyone,

Firstly I'd like to apologise for my lack of posting over the last few months. Work has just been too crazy and I've barely had time to keep up with all the postings - this mailing list is so popular!

The reason for my posting is firstly to announce that my little lady Abby turned the grand old age of 5 in May and I brought her home 5 years ago yesterday. You wouldn't think she was an aging piggy the way she tears about the place head butting anything in sight. I got Abby from a pet shop along with her friend Helga who sadly died last year. Abby would be Helga's slave fetching her food as she was too lazy to move. Abby got a new lease of life after Helga went as she could enjoy her life for herself if you know what I mean. After a while though it was obvious she wanted some company and after an unsuccessful bonding attempt with Marmite and Jessica...

Abby has a new friend in the form of a neutered boar called Rex who is of course is a rex! The pair get on OK - they are not best friends yet but they love to play together and chase each other about the place. They don't snuggle or anything but Rex definately has a soft spot for Abby because he pines after her if she is more than a couple of metres away. I adopted Rex from a rescue as he had been put in boarding whilst the owners were on holiday and then decided they no longer wanted him on their return. He is about 1 years old and loves to live life loud! Very confident and I suspect he had a good life before me which I find odd. Maybe the novelty wore off...

I'll make more of an effort to catch up from now on :)
