it depends if they are wild bunny species, like cotton tails, etc, those are
wildlife and are not allowed to be owned by private individuals, but can be
taken to licensed wildlife rehabbers, call you local ASPCA or shelter for a
local number. If what you found are domestic bunnies loose in the wild then
they do need rescuing, but its a bigger commitment than a guinea pig as they
can live 9 to 13 years, and have more medical needs than gp's. there is an
excellent website called etherbun, Google for sign up site, be sure to read
their rules, they are very large so they have to keep ot to business, no fun
adventures, and condolences like we do. Also there is the national House
Rabbit Society, and most states also have their own chapters, also Google.
House rabbits should be kept in the house in a large enclosure like a dog
exercise pen, with a litter box and toys. They eat a more restricted diet
than piggies and so keep it to unlimited hay, small amounts of pellets, plus
salads of mostly greens, few to no treats, a baby carrot, tiny nubbin of
banana and that's it. After they are fully potty trained and neutered, both
sexes are mandatory for health and behavioral issues, they can be let out
into a larger area or the whole house if you bunny pro. So, you will need a
bunny savvy vet right off. There are many concerns about pigs and buns
living together as buns can injure pigs with their strong back legs.
Sometimes it works, there are success stories too. Your new charges will
need a vet trip to check for parasites and health issues. Dont ever bathe
bun and never use Frontline, it's fatal. Start at
