Hello Guinea pig friends,
I seem to have a problem... and not sure how to deal with this one.. maybe some ideas? Well as you know we have a new piggie named Aubrey. Well she is a fine pig indeed. very loving when you have her out. and is a nice neat piggie too! Well we tried to introduce her to the piggie cage we were hoping she would fit in with (Old gal Anastasia and young gal Athena) well we did the traditional bath before intros and our traditional sit on daddy's chest together for several nites before putting her in their cage. well all these things worked out well. the sitting on daddy was good etc.. but after Aubrey was in their cage with them (its large 4 by 2) for a nite she decided to pick on Athena. she would chase her around and bite at her. And she was also mean to Anastasia too.  it was horrible. I have never had trouble having girls live with each other.  so we had to separate them again.  then we thought well maybe she would fit in better with Amelia(a little
over a year old) and Alexandria(couple of years old)... well that was about the same situation.. she would rumble strut at them and keep them in their huts and run and jump at them. Aubrey would even put her head in at them in their huts and chatter her teeth at them!  it again was horrible.. we thought well they will work it out right? its just them trying to figure out who is going to be boss piggie.. well after two nites of  Aubrey wanting to bullie those two sweet girls to tears and crys of fear, we had had enough and took her out to her own cage again.. (we even tried the water bottle trick that you give the offending pig a spray of water.) it sure didnt even fase her.
She seems content to be on her own.. I guess I just never thought that would happen as she is younger a little less than a year old.  So does anyone else have this problem? we figure she can come out on daddies chest and "visit" the other girls that way.. I just feel bad that she doesn't want a cage mate(s).
When I put her back in her own little cage, she does the happy purr.
?confused Slave?,
