We lit a memorial candle here in Lower Normandy, Northwest France, at 8pm
this evening, in memory of Peter Gurney, whose books are our bibles, and
all the far-too-many Dolly Mixtures who have departed for The Rainbow
Bridge. We are also remembering little Lilac, the piggie who died in the
petstore, and all other piggies who go to The Bridge without ever having
had devoted slaves. And we remember Joe, the dad of George the Guinea
Pig, and any other members of this wonderful gpdd community who have gone
to The Rainbow Bridge. Debbie and the 8 Dolly Mixtures

"We patronize them for their incompleteness,
for their tragic fate of having taken a form so far below ourselves.
And therein we err, and greatly err.
For the animal shall not be measured by man.
In a world older and more complete than ours
they move finished and complete, gifted
with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained,
living by voices we shall never hear.
They are not brethren, they are not underlings;
they are other nations, caught with ourselves
in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners
of the splendour and travail of the earth".
