Ric, Denise and all the Sabatini Piggie Clan We were so very sorry to
hear of the departure to the Rainbow Bridge of your Senior Citizen Ageing
Miracle Pig (SCAMP), proud patriarch Midnight. He sounds like a veritable
hero amongst piggies, with his literacy teaching and award in the Petstar
contest, and a wonderful pig to know, full of personality and love. What
a credit to the care and attention you bestowed upon him as his slaves,
that he made it to the grand old age of 7 years, and was active until the
last. We are glad that he was able to choose his own departure time, and
that you were able to be with him as he left to make that final journey.
If you have a photo of him, it would be lovely if you could add a tribute
to him to the SCAMPS website maintained by Mikey in Holland - these
elderly pigs are an inspiration to us all. We can scarcely imagine the
grief you must be feeling after such a long and fulfilling relationship
with this very special pig. We only hope you can find some comfort in the
knowledge that his loss is being felt and grieved the world over, and
members of the gpdd community everywhere are thinking of you at this
particularly sad time, and wishing you well. Debbie and the 8 Dolly
Mixtures
"We patronize them for their incompleteness,
for their tragic fate of having taken a form so far below ourselves.
And therein we err, and greatly err.
For the animal shall not be measured by man.
In a world older and more complete than ours
they move finished and complete, gifted
with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained,
living by voices we shall never hear.
They are not brethren, they are not underlings;
they are other nations, caught with ourselves
in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners
of the splendour and travail of the earth".
