Hi Penny and all.

Wow, thanks for the info about varieties! I can sort it out with some help. I did not know what a "crest" was until I looked it up, and yes, it seems all my piggies now have crests except for Cheyenie, who is a very short-haired breed, I have never had to trim her hair ever, and she is the dearest, sweetest little gal ever. With red eyes and angelically smooth, burnt orange colored fur, almost a dark orangey brownish (LOL).

Rufie is still eating about half a tsp. of critical care that I make into a paste and put on a tiny dish. I think the dish is for sashimi (<Japanese style fish), but of course they are for the piggies...Rufie has a crest too, and long hair if I don't cut it, and it goes up in a crest on the top of his head, but I think he is also Rex, because his whiskers curl under on his brown face, but all his long straight white coat goes backwards from his face, and on top, it is like he has a ridge going down the center of his back of white fur. So he may be a Silkie with rex.

I gather that the sheltie/silkies are with long straight hair, it almost resembles a child's hair. And rex teddys? are they the ones that have hair going every which-way? with little cowlicks? If so, Rufie doesn't really have any of that, but his whiskers are not straight so he is a loveable, boaring, brown-eyed love.

The 3 sisters and their mom all have long hair, as well as the dad and two boys. their hair goes backward so they must be Shelties/Silkies, and their hair will fall into slightly wavy ringlets, so They must be part Texel, too.

My piggie Kaloey is probably all of the above. His coat will grow indefinitely if I do not trim him. But it grows long in every direction, and he is almost all black except for two places that are white, which almost makes him look skunkish!! (haha.) He is very sweet.

I have read that our piggies are related to skunks, porcupines, and chinchillas.

God Bless all the animals

Ellen
