I am still catching up on my Digests.

Thank you to John for sharing the wonderful photos. The interaction between Henry and Precious reminded me of my late lamented dog, Sophie, who loved the piggies. She was so gentle with them, guarding them when they were in the garden, letting them climb into her basket and licking them dry after a shampoo. They were the puppies she never had.

I hope that Joanie will share her pigtures of Puff. I do so agree about taking photos of our beloved pets. I have hundreds, no thousands, of photos of the many wonderful animals with whom I have had the privilege of sharing my home over very many years and take great pleasure in looking back at times past. There does come a time when the happy memories outweigh the inevitable sadness of losing them all.

They begin with black and white photos of my very first piggies together with some ancient home video of them running around our courtyard, then onto Polaroids. We didn't know at the time that Polaroids would fade to an orangey hue over time but I vividly remember the colour of each and every piggy, bird, fish and, of course, my beloved dogs. Then onto better colour photos and finally a great leap forward with idiot proof digital cameras. Standing on my desk is a digital photo frame that takes memory sticks full of pet photos which gives me joy every time that I switch it on.

Thank you also to Leah for the pigtures of Princess Snowflake and Bertie. Such sweet piggies.

More Digests to read tomorrow.
