A belated welcome to Tiffany's new red piggy. I love red piggies. I happen to love all colours of piggies but perhaps I have a particular affinity for the reds as I have red hair myself and had all the usual schoolyard nicknames such as Carrot and Ginger.

I expect that, by now, this little fellow has chosen his own name and suggestions might be superfluous.

I currently have two self red boys, Copper and Garnet. My reds do not always have appropriate names to their colour but past Piggyfriends have included Squirrel, who came already named and Halley, who came into my life at the same time as Halley's Comet was visible in the sky.

I had a piggy called Ginger but she came with the name and was not ginger anyway.

I had Sonja ( from the film Red Sonja but highly inappropriate for a boar! ) and her sister, Hawthorn, for the red berries. I used the name Holly for one of my cockatiels as he was a Christmas gift.

I knew a red piggy called Otis ( from Otis Redding ) but I guess that one would need to be a fan of his music. I am not.

Are you going to try to introduce your new boy to form a trio? I have never tried a trio myself for the fear of bullying that usually arises but will be very interested to find out if it works. I know that our Jocelyn used to have a successful trio, which reminds me that she had a gorgeous red boy called Fireball.

Regards.

Penny and the Piggyfriends.
