The pyrethrums are not the best for mites, and yes, there are several types, If not ivermectin, then ask your vet for Revolution, nothing else, esp not Frontline, could kill g.p.'s, but Ivermectin is so standard for piggy mites that I am aghast that your vet wont use it. Take a print out from guinealynx or critter corral If they still refuse I will tell you how to give it another way, but the preferred way is by vet, and that your vet wont do it blows me away completely. Have the specialist give it then, and consider going to the specialist for everything. Your piggy needs a vet that knows piggies  Sandy
