Another way I found to get piggies to gain weight is to invite them to have breakfast (or any other meal with me)I block off an area of the table so he cant sprint off the end, and then I wake a plate of various goodies, 2 or 3 kinds of fruit, 2 or 3 kinds of greens and a few little pieces of vegetables. It seems They like a varied meal as much as we do, and while he will try a few things on his own, if a few more are waved around under his nose he will perk up and eat more than if he was all alone. I would be very careful of seeds, if they are salted wash it off, and I wouldn't give a handful, just a few and shelled of course. Sometimes a thin old fashioned oatmeal gruel with no sugar, or some canned pumpkin, both offered from a spoon or the little tiny bowls chefs use works well. If he is on pain meds give them before the meal so he has the benefit of pain relief during the meal.

To set him up for it I take a big bath towel or bath sheet and roll it up leaving the last foot or so free, then curve it into a semicircle and he and his meal all go on the flat part and the big curved roll prevents him from escape. It doesn't hurt that my table sits against a wall. If he is too skittish then I would just do it picnic style on the floor. I did this with piggies who were recovering for a month or so and it worked great and we ended up with a closer bond. I found I was eating allot more salads and fresh veggies too!
Good luck Sandy and Shipwreck Sammy, off to the pirate ship again seems he prefers his fiancé's company to mine, fancy that!
