Hi everybody and everypig,
 
Tomorrow i take Rufie to the vet for a follow up from the sebaceous cyst surgery. I was concerned he lost weight. He seems ok now.  Now i am concerned about one of the other ones, Kaloey...I came home from work and he had a dry pigloo (unusual), checked him and noticed he needed some assistance.  He seemed 'bloated'; I checked his penis which i hardly ever do
and it looked as if there was a sore on it; maybe from an adhesion? this was after i had given him a bath...also it needed cleaning so i rinsed him off under the warm tap again...

i got the spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide and the "kiss my face" calendula lotion (i could not find calendula oil in the stores here, which Peter Gurney said to use), got him to 'sit' while i held him while i sat on the toilet seat and sprayed a tiny bit of the peroxide then doused a q-tip with the lotion and applied it to his exposed penis.  i sat him in the towel and dried him off (he has lotsa black hair going every which way) and then while still holding him in a dry towel, went to the kitchen where i crushed a 500 mg. non-acidic ester-C tablet in the mortar and pestal and added water, and syringe-fed him that about one third or so, then offered a tiny bit of banana.
 
While still holding him, I created a nice cage area with clean towels in a cleaned spare cage.  cleaned his bowl with bleach and wiped his sipper tube mouthpiece off after disinfecting (i change their water at least every other day; with 7 cages, it is sometimes easier to just use and wash towels instead of using the carefresh bedding, which is messy, or the crown bedding, which is heavy, although i like to use a combination of clean newpapers, toweling, on one side of the cage, and the bedding on the other).  Got some hay and set him up on the bed with girly Cheyenie next door.  i noticed he did pee, that should clean the urethra naturally...and he pooped too so he did not have diarrhea (i was concerned) so he seems  happy and will keep my eyes out for anything unusual.  the non-acidic ester-C seems like a charm.
