[Gpdd] BEHAVIOR: Piggy trust

Here's my two cents. All piggies are different. Some will always run from
you no matter how long you have them and some won't . Even though I don't
spend as much time as I should with Kit, Knight and Karlos el Bandito (a/k/a
Bandito), Knight and Bandito have no problem letting me pet them in their
cage. Kit is getting better. There father/brother (oh the therapy about
that one) is also getting better about letting me pet him. He likes for me
to hand him his morning carrot. Krickette runs into her hideaway about half
the time while other times she stands on her cage and lets me pick her up
for a cuddle. Kismet will run but is fine once I pick her up. Jimmee and
Kia both run but are fine when I pick them up for a cuddle particularly if
there are treats involved in the case of Jimmee. When he and Kia have floor
time, Jimmee comes near my feet and moves his mouth in a chewing motion
waiting for treats. Kia mostly likes to wander around during this time.
Then there's my sweet Kiki ... she will stand still when I approach
and pretty much let me pick her up any time. Of course, she knows there's
either veggies or a veggy puff soon to come. My sweet Kramer (RIP) was also
good about not running for the hills. He loved to run up my chest and sit
on my shoulder.

Bottom line, I guess, is don't take it personally if your piggy never seems
to totally "trust" you. You are, after all, trying to overcome thousands of
years of natural instinct. Always remember: they are prey animals in the
wild and those instincts are more difficult for some to overcome than others
no matter how much we try and how much we love them.
