Hi Joanie

I hadn't seen this email when I replied to your earlier email.

In people this rapid eye movement issue is usually called labrinytis (spelt
wrong, sorry) and I have had this. It's usually caused by an inner ear
problem. In my case, it was caused by a reaction to a very strong
prescription pain killer I was given by my doctor. It wreaked my balalnce
for a while. My advice is pretty much as before, if it is an inner ear
infection -- which is does sound like -- you need to get to a vet for
treatment asap. If the test for E. Cuniculi is non-invasive and easy to
perform, you might want to ask you vet to check for that as well, seeing as
you indicated nystagmus and head tilt (which can be connected with E.
Cuniculi, and is more serious).

I did not want to move at all when I had labrinytis, as all movement I did
for a while caused the rapid eye movement, and it is scary. You just want
to keep still for a time until the effects wear off. It makes you feel sick
as well, so don;t be surprised if Hershey can't or won't eat for a time --
although you will need to get food and fluids in her if she does stop
eating. Try not to be too scared. If it is an ear infection only, it's not
life-threatening, but you must get to a vet.

Thinking of you

Carole
