[Gpdd] HEALTH: More about Hershey

Sorry I'm monopolizing the emails. Sandy brought up some good questions I'd like to address. Hershey's legs weren't paralyzed, in fact they were very strong. The just didn't know what to do to get her upright. She's been on 50 mg Oxbow vitamin C tablets, which she's adored even when little else appealed to her. I'm afraid to give more because, at least in humans, too much can trigger our old friend, diarrhea.
The article she suggested gave me a lot of hope, which I was having a deficiency of, and I strongly recommended it to all.
Hershey's cage is above our bunny's cage, but there's no urine or dropping exchange, plus our last piggie lived for several years in the same cage with her, and, for the last of her seven-plus year, in the same spot Hershey's is. They have enjoyed greens from our pasture, which I used to rinse as if I were going to eat them. Now I use natural dishsoap and rinse until the soap's gone. There could be bunnies there, but neither Bun nor Vrie ever showed any symptoms.
Hershey's from Petsmart, where piggies were housed, girls and boys in their own glass cages. She was barely weaned when I got her, and incredible scared, nonetheless adoreable. I hope this answered all the questions you've raised. Don't be afraid to ask again, all of you, if I've forgotten anything. Depression makes me forgetful.
Joanie
