I have *never* heard of anything about bugs that help keep guinea pigs alive. That's the weirdest thing I ever heard! Any kind of bugs on our piggies is a bad thing. I've often heard that white bugs are lice. I don't know what treatment is recommended for lice, but I'm sure someone else on here would. I would be careful about giving them cat medicine & suchforth. They could end up with a medicine that is dangerous for piggies. Hopefully some others will have more advice for you. This is just my two cents! Let us know how things work out.
