Dear Jan

I had two pieces of VetBed for my 2 piggies as I used to change their
bedding daily. This meant one piece of Vetbed would be in the wash and
drying one day, while the other piece was in use. Because I was having
trouble with piggy mites, I washed the VetBed at 60 degrees centigrade each
time (it kills the mites and their eggs at that heat), and it never looked
any different when coming out the wash. So you can wash it at that
temperature or a lower one in the washing machine. I used to wash my VetBed
with the other blankets my piggies slept on and used ordinary washing
machine liquid -- try to find one that is unfragranced or hardly fragranced
at all if you can, as VetBed does tend to 'hold' a smell and that can be
unpleasant for piggies if it's a really highly perfumed washing machine
liquid/powder. For that reason, I never used fabric conditioner, as I could
never find one that was unfragranced.

I left the VetBed to dry naturally, and it was always dry by the next
morning. I never tumbledried it, as it dries pretty quick, so I don't know
if there might be a bit of shrinkage if you do that.

Finally, after the VetBed and other piggy blankets have been in your washing
machine, you might want to put the machine on a quick rinse cycle, so you
don't end up with piggy hairs all over the next wash of (human) clothes ;o)

Hope the above is of help. If there's anything else you might want to ask
about VetBed, feel free to ask.

With kind regards

Carole
