OH! my dear Dee and Joe, We prepare, we brace ourselves, we hang on
to crumbs of hope, we tell ourselves she had a great life and maybe misses
Peaches, she was a bit sedentary and broad of beam that Sammy loved so much.
Virtually they loved to sit in front of a tiny flame on the Black Pearl and
sip tea, she would have a hot soak for Sammy's aching cold feet, and she
would wrap him in a snuggle cup and he would tell her stories, she hung on
every word, especially the ones where the secret agents went out in their
Zodiacs to Caribbean islands and stood watch over nests of turtle eggs, and
once hatched they would guard the babies on their first and most dangerous
trip to the sea. This was so dangerous as many predators of baby sea turtle
would gladly snatch up a piggie instead, but they fought valiantly with
their pirate swords and never a piggy was lost and many babies were saved.
Brave Piggies and Brave times and sweet Jodie to come home to, Sammy loved
that life.
But it all doesn't change the sadness in hearts now. Your sad messages
washes over me like a wave too large to escape, and I cant help adding to it
with my tears. I am crying so hard I have a towel in my lap. So I'm sure
it's much harder for you and I am so very sorry. The new year wont be what
it would have been now that this world is missing our Jodie. I am grateful
that she went very quickly, the opposite is so awful. So gentle Jodie has
gone off to the Rainbow Bridge as whee all must. Sammy is only 2 so
hopefully for me Jodie may wait awhile for her one true pig, but to be with
Peaches again and to meet all your other piggies she has known and others
like my Manny, the Princess Snowflake, Orinoco who I thought was boar on
first introduction, and even my long gone Penny Giggles, will fill the gap
with fun and games and endless meadows of the finest hays and most beautiful
flowers. Good bye Dear Jodie, whee love you so much and will always remember
you.
Sammy and Sandy
" It is with much sadness I tell you Jodie left us suddenly for the Bridge.
It was unexpected because she seemed to be improving. I could tell it was
sudden. I think her heart just stopped. She was laying by her food dish.
Joe and I were shocked and saddened. We were able to bury her in our
backyard with our other Bridge piggies even with snow on the ground.
At least she didn't linger or suffer. She is at the Bridge, perhaps at
Toby's tavern, hoisting a brew to her piggie friends and waiting for her
true love Sammy to join her
in the future. Not too soon we hope. Thank you all for your support
during her illness.
Dee and Joe with Jodie and June. Remembering Tribbles, Taffy, Daisy,
Oreo, Juliet, Pumpkin, Tacoma, Honey, Peaches and Jodie."
