Last week when I was changing their cages I noticed that Babe had a bare patch on her side. I didn't think much of it but during the week it got worse and I could see a sort of lesion there as well as the bald spot. I planned to take her to the vet this past weekend but before I could get her there I noticed that Rusty had a spot too. They share the same cages. I have two large cages with the middle bars taken out so they can jump back and forth. Their mother, Gus, is also in there with them. Gus is fine. No bare spots. I took Babe to the vet yesterday because I thought it might be mites, but the vet said no after doing a scraping. She is also doing some sort of fungal culture which will take two weeks to get the results from. She said it may just be barbering. But do any of you know that barbering results in an almost lesion-like sore? Unless they are getting a little too enthusiastic and are actually biting each other. Gus doesn't have any
marks. Every now and then I hear a squeek like someone got bitten. They have been together, mother and two daughters, since birth and nothing like this has ever happened. I don't know if I should separate them or just leave them alone. The vet gave me some drops to put on their sores to prevent infection but if it is barbering I will have to break them up and I don't want to do that. Any suggestions?? Thank for your help.

P.S. I'm supposed to be dropping off a new baby pig to a rescue this weekend but I think once I see her, I might have a hard time letting her go.
