[Gpdd] MISC: I Need Introduction Advice!

Hi everyone,

After waiting months and months for the local Humane Society shelter to have a guinea pig up for adoption, at last there is a little girl piggie out there looking for a home!  I spoke to the front desk staff this morning and they said she had been surrendered because "the kids had lost interest", that she was a little timid at the moment but seemed to enjoy cuddling once the scary picking-up part was over.

I'm planning to go out and meet her (and probably bring her home) tomorrow after work.  I currently have Doris and Audrey, who live together, and Olivia, who lives across the room from D&A in her own cage.  Everyone visits back and forth through the cages during their separate floor times (that is, Doris & Audrey separate from Olivia) but the older girls tend to persecute Olivia if they are all out together.  The persecution has eased off considerably over the two years they have lived in this arrangement (on the few occasions lately where they happened to all end up out together, they seemed mostly interested in just checking out each others' cages) but I've never been quite brave enough to try everyone in a cage together.

It would be great if the new piggie could live with Olivia, though I know that may or may not happen.  If there is a way to introduce her into the group that would help lead to the happiest outcome, though, I could really use that advice!   I am assuming she will be in a cage by herself for a while, so that's what I will be setting up fro her right away, but should it be next to Olivia?  Entirely separate from both other cages?  It would be great if you experienced folks could share your wisdom on this point!

I don't know if this link will come through, but this is her adoption page:

Thanks in advance,

Pat S. (on her way home to tell Doris, Audrey and Olivia this exciting news!!!!)
