Dear Angela, I shall cry with you if it's ok! I had a little girl, a black
Abby, much like your Isis (who was no doubt queen of all she surveyed) and
although my Jetma didn't have tumors, the resulting hormonal imbalance just
burned her up metabolically, she always wanted more food and especially more
to drink, if I put a syringe into the cage she would grab it straight away
and try to administer the liquid to herself. In the final months she had to
sleep in the same room as me in order she could wheek me awake if she needed
more water. Then she would be all affectionate while I got it and
administered it, then I got the cold shoulder once she was satisfied and she
would become a regular piggy again and drop off to sleep. So we were very
close as she recognized that she needed me so much but I think she missed
her independence. I enjoyed my times with her, I hated that she had to
depend on me so, but I was happy I could be there for her. Het name was Jet
but it devolved into Jet-ma (my Jet). It's been 10 or more years but some
times I still wake up in the night thinking she needs something. I think of
her often still, but now in the context of her being at our lovely rainbow
bridge where she is never hungry or thirsty and she spends her time having
fun with her friends, and chasing butterflies and leisurely teasing out the
best parts of the best hay because it tastes so good. Now finally the
urgencies that drove her life with me are gone and she just has fun playing
like Bing, living the Guinea Pig way, in fact I'll bet she has met up with
him there at the bridge. Our girls were so sweet and are so missed. It was
nice your other girls got to say good by, even the one that was confused
gets the message that she is gone and she doesn't have to look for her. I
hope your heart has a nice recovery as you slowly put away the hurt parts
but more and more member the fun and loving parts. Lovely Isis
love, Sandy and Sammy
