Hi! I am having a problem with Mimi & need some help. Tue. night after her lap time when I put her back in her cage she was sniffing everything really loudly & refused to come out of her house. We couldn't figure out what she was smelling or what she was afraid of. Everything was the same. The only thing that happened differently on Tue. was that I put a frozen water bottle in the corner of her cage to try to keep her cool but she was so afraid of it I took it out right away. Yesterday was Wed. & she still wouldn't come out of her house. She hadn't eaten or drank anything so out of desperation we decided to take her house out of the cage. Then she started eating & drinking fairly normally again. After laptime last night I put her back & put her house in with her & she was fine. Coming in & out of her house, eating & drinking like normal. I am giving her some Critical Care throughout the day to supplement. Now this morning (Thur.) she wasn't coming out so I took her house out again & she started eating & drinking again right away. She stands up at the edge of the cage asking for treats & walks around like normal & even popcorned some, but something is weird with her. I checked her over & the teeth in front look good, her eyes look fine. I felt her jaws & chin for lumps & didn't feel any. I felt all over her body & didn't feel anything unusual. It's like something invisable is scaring her. I hate to take her out in the 100 degree heat to the vets & stress her out. I'm very worried about her & confused. I've never had a piggie act like this before. She seems normal other then not wanting to come out of her house. Any advice would be appreciated. Please say prayers for my Mimi that she will get better. I don't know what I'd do without her. Thanks.
