Whee would like to say a HUGE thankyou to so many wonderful people and
piggies who sent us emails with lots of advice and love
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx i have replied personally,
and will continue to do so :o)

So far the results on her bloods are that her glucose is up to 28.6
which is virtually double what a piggies level should be!
Also had to do a urine test (oh the fun involved in that.......... ) but
that has come out inconclusive SIGH
Brendan is going to the University of Melbourne on wednesday where he
teaches, and will chat to other vets and he's also doing some research.

I would appreciate if anyone has a piggie with or knows of one with
diabetes, i'd like to discuss their case study, also if their vets would
be willing to discuss with Brendan. It's all pretty new here in OZ for
him.

Regarding taking the bloods for Velvet, they said they needed nearly a
ml for a number of tests and could not get this from anywhere else, she
was out for seconds with a whiff of gas.....then put back in with Onyx
and Traci cuddled her too. Both the girls lost weight from friday's
experience so we'll see if i can fatten them up again!

Also have started to alter their diet, i'm not going to eliminate
everything at once, this may upset them and their tummies, so slowly
taking out corn (oh dear and they adore it...) and will alter how much
they get of other foods also. They weren't huge fruit eaters, but loved
it in the hotter months....... maybe i'll be able to offer some but just
not everyday and only teeny bits.

Again thanks from us all
Many hugs, loves and wheeeeeeeks to you all

Glynis Velvet and Onyx (in mem Sully and Duke) xxxx
