Ellen,

IMPORTANT:  The dosage you are using of Sulfatrim is not too low.  In fact, it is a little more than normally prescribed by my vet.  I agree with the idea that your piggie probably has a URI, but please know that you are giving a good dosage of the Sulfatrim.  Septrim and Sulfatrim dosages are not interchangeable.

Sulfatrim is an antibiotic that is safe for guinea pigs and I have used it successfully many, many times.  Sulfatrim and Baytril are the two most commonly used antibiotic used for guinea pigs in the U.S. (in this part of the country anyway).
