Definitely call Oxbow and let them know, they will send a replacement and 
they need to know.  Hay changes throughout the year as they grow 2 crops, or 
rather cut the grass hay twice and the softer stuff comes from the prime 
timing, stiff hay is too old. Oxbow buys hay from different growers and 
especially their big boxes can be very bad in years past. As I wrote earlier 
be sure to take the stiff parts out and try the local feed store for horses, 
they get great hay. Even if you have to pay for a whole bale and only take 
a chip or two home its tons cheaper than Oxbow and you pick the best 
yourself. The rest of a bale can be given to your local shelter too. Be sure 
not to store it in plastic unless you poke allot of holes in it for 
ventilation, moldy hay kills. Sandy and Sammy
