Bina-
I just wanted to weigh in on the subject of neutering your piggie. I have only had one piggie that had surgery over the years & it was very hard. His surgery was because he had a stone though & it was a much different situation then what you are doing. He never really recovered. It was hard on him & me both. Therefore, I would never put one of my piggies thru an un-necessesary surgery. However, you have done a good amount of research & seem to have found a knowledgeable vet. I would ask him how many neuters he has done on piggies over the years & what is the fatality rate among those piggies. Also ask what type of anesthetic he uses & if someone will be available 24/7 after the surgery if you would need them, esp. as you said this place is like 2 hours from your home. Just some things to think about. I'm sure other members will have more advice for you. Let us know how Oliver does.
