I have four pigs,one of which is very, very destructive.  She gnaws all the time.  I have given her toys, but she wants to eat her house.  When I first got her, I put her and her two babies in a cage with the big pigloo and she ate almost the entire doorway off.  I was afraid of all that plastic in her so I started buying the Snak Shaks.  But they are $20 apiece and she wrecks them so fast it was getting very expensive.  So then I turned to the thatch round tunnel hide outs.  They were OK but they would smell so bad from piggie urine that I had to stop using them.  I tried putting wee wee pads on the bottoms but the girls would lie in their own droppings and wee so that didn't work.  Now I found a sort of twiggy basketey thing without a bottom on petco that is much cheaper and they seem to like it, but again, they are eating it like crazy.  Is there anything I can rub on their houses to deter this chewing.  I don't want to hurt them but I'm trying not to
 have to replace the huts every week.  They are cheaper than the shaks but they are about $7 apiece and I need 3.  It is kind of cute though.  They eat out a portion and it looks like a big picture window.  They are such bad girls but I love them dearly.  And then I have the baby Peanut who is so neat.  All the poo in one place and never chews anything.  Such a good girl.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  And to all those of you who have lost a piggie recently, my deepest sympathy.  It takes time, but eventually we all move on.  I still miss The Porkster.  Even though we love them all, I think everyone has a favorite that we just feel special about.
