Joanne, it really isn't a sad thing that Spicy is slowing down at 5.5 years old ... it's a normal part of life and I've had ones who live several years after they start slowing down ... so don't start thinking she's going to die soon.  You really have to just enjoy the time you have now with all of them ... whether they're slowing down or not ... life is fleeting.

Another way to think about it is that Spicy feels so secure in your home that she allows herself to drop her guard and sleep deeply.  Of course, the personalities of some pigs never allow them to be so laid back, but it does say something about the environment in which they live.
