Hi all,

I don't know what happened, but I came home after doing 'guinea pig
laundry', and Sheila was limp and listless. i tried to revive her but
she was slipping into unconsciousness.  She felt hot, and smelled like
stinky urine. (?)
I gave rimydal and water and even sulfatrim. I am guessing she may
have had a UTI ? I know she lost a little fur, so did her mom, Sami. I
gave them both baths with keto-chlor and povidine iodine solution
(betadine). That was 10 days ago, and they were all up on all the meds
for worming, but I don't know what happened. I don't want this to
happen to the other sows.
I will be giving Sami another anti-fungal bath and Dida every day if I can.

Sheila was just a few months short of 3 years old. She was 4 weeks old
when i got her with her mom and dad at the pet shop, in April of 2009.
The only thing unusual I noticed was her fur around her face looked a
little ruffled, the past two dys, but I had held her just a few days
ago and she seemed just fine. she was forever running away from me. I
put her body in the pen, when I was cleaning their cage. So they could
just see that I wasn't taking her away from them, that she went into
the light, instead.  she did pass while I was holding her, after one
little last wheek.
Rest in peace Little Sheila. I am sad about this but I know that you
are with my niece Emily now, too, and that she has helped you into the
light which is for all of us when we go there.
