Dear Joan,
The dose of panacur is 0.4 ml. You are using a 1.0 ml syringe. Forget
about the markings that say 1 through 16. You wrote that you gave 0.04
ml of panacur. A ml = cc. That would be one drop of panacue. That is
too small of a dose. You want to aspirate the panacur up to the 0.4 ml
mark. This means the syringe will almost be half filled with panacur. It
is very difficult to overdose with panacur = fenbendazole. The following
is from the package insert for panacur. Overdosage toxicity
-Fenbendazole is apparently well tolerated at doses up to 100X
recommended. The LD50 in laboratory animals exceeds 10 grams/kg when
administered PO orally. It is unlikely an acute overdosage would lead to
clinical symptoms. When you administer 0.4 ml of 2.5% panacur you are
giving 10 mg not grams. So you do not have to worry that you gave an
overdose.

Cheers,
