Hi fellow guinea pig lovers,

I've been ill for almost 3 months now, and have heard today this is caused
by a bacteria called Yersinia. This can be treated with an antibiotic.

I read a little about this bacteria and have learned this Yersinia is a
bacteria that is also found in pigs and rodents. Looking this bacteria up
concerning guinea pigs, did not comfort me. (for example:
http://www.provet.co.uk/health/diseases/Yersinia.htm).
All mentions I found about it said the if the guinea pig has this, it's best
to put it out of it's misery.
I am not convinced they have it, every since I started treating my guinea
pigs for a fungus, they have improved greatly. But does anyone have any
experience or information about guinea pigs and yersinia? Should I worry?

I really hope they will not be affected by it, apart from not feeling great
myself, I would hate to also have my piggies infected.

Thanks for listening and maybe providing me with information,
Mikey from the Guinygirlz: Woopy, Lily, Daisy and my Valentine Chico
