Dear ME; I was able to confirm its usual to only give a local to take a
fluid sample from the lungs or chest. I hope that is what your vet does.
He probably has peritonitis and probably congestive heart failure and
possibly heart worms if never being wormed or not wormed consistently.
All these must be addressed. If peritonitis be sure to get the culture and
sensitivity test and make sure the antibiotics last till its gone, too
little it will come right back, and again the nutritional support needs to
last beyond the course of antibiotics, best wishes, and paws crossed.
